Western Care Hospice provides treatment of symptoms. This palliative care focuses on enhancing patient’s comfort and overall quality of life and is provided in the patient’s home, a nursing home, or hospital. Western Care Hospice services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week or on an intermittent basis and include:


  • Skilled nurses, who are trained specifically to deal with pain and symptom management
  • Social workers, to offer counseling, and as resources for community services
  • Hospice Aides and Homemakers
  • Chaplains to provide spiritual support if needed
  • Volunteers, to provide assistance, through visits, letter writing, reading or shopping
  • Medications, equipment and supplies 


We strive to:


  •    address the symptoms of the patient’s diseases with emphasis on controlling pain and discomfort;
  •    empower the patient and family by preparing them for the natural process of dying and providing physical emotional and spiritual support;
  •    provide bereavement and counseling services.

 
Western Care Hospice recognizes that psychological, spiritual, and social services, as well as medical/clinical care, can contribute to an improve quality of life for patients and their families. A team of dedicated Western Care Hospice professionals, guided by the choices and decisions made by the patient. The team consists of, but not limited to:
